Conceive, Believe, Achieve

Have you noticed how easily you can slip into doing the same things day after day? How you can lose the joy and excitement of your own life and it can become humdrum and boring?

Well remember then that you are the driver in your own life. You and only you, make the changes in your life happen. You and only you, are responsible for your own actions and inactions. It seems strange to think that you have created your own life experiences, especially when life seems difficult or really sad events happen.

Sometimes sad things do happen in life, the natural order of life is that our grandparents will journey home to spirit first, then our parents when the time is right for them and then of course, we will go home to spirit as well. And whilst that experience is terribly sad for us, for those who have gone back to spirit, they are in a beautiful place, surrounded by love, light and joy, and of course, they can still see us and what we’re doing in our lives and they try to help us when they can.  Rarely though, a child will pass back to spirit before their parent – and that is against the natural order of life and in many ways that feels so much more difficult to bear and naturally is so. We take our hats off to parents who manage to survive that terrible experience and carry on with life.

I know people will use the old saying “Time heals”, but does it really? I believe not. What does happen with time though, is that their passing becomes less raw. Their loss to you is less often in the forefront of your mind, you love them and miss them no less, but your life has changed to accommodate that emptiness.

So how can we change our lives to become more of what we do like?

Well, to change your life, you must change your thoughts. Instead of dwelling on what you are missing in your life – whether that is money, health, a partner, a dog, a nice place to live, a nice place to work ( I could go on for ever here but I will stop there), think about what you do want in your life and imagine yourself enjoying that. Get that wonderful feeling in your tummy that you get when you know something is right and good, and imagine whatever it is you want. It’s as simple as that.

I know we all get negative thoughts in our head from time to time. Of course we do – we’re simply human. You can train your mind to leave those negative thoughts out. So when you catch yourself worrying about something or someone – think “cancel, cancel, cancel” and then make a positive statement in place of that.

Worth trying eh?

Actively listening

What do I mean by this?

Well in this fast paced world we live in – where we’re bombarded with noise and sound all around us, from traffic to radio and television even the supermarkets have a noise all of their own! We’re surrounded by the hum of life in all it’s forms.

And then think of that still small voice within your own head.  How often do you stop and listen? How often do you give yourself time?

A word of caution though, if  that voice within your own mind is telling you to do things which are illegal, immoral or dangerous – then please seek urgent medical advice.

But if your still small voice is simply a ‘what if?’, ‘what about?’, or simply a word or a phrase in your head – then listen!

Have you noticed when your thoughts appear to be a little different, almost as though we’re having a dialogue in our own mind? Have you ever considered what or who that voice may be? It may be your closest guide, the one who is within you all the time, or it may be your own higher self (or higher knowing), it depends on your own belief system. Allow that voice to be heard. Give yourself permission to listen to yourself – not all the time of course, because we do live in a real physical, material world. But we also have our own unique spirituality and it  may just be that if you take a little time for yourself then you could change your life!

The easiest way to hear that voice is to simply sit where it’s quiet, relax and just allow yourself to almost go within your own body. Perhaps listen to your own breathing and very gently take your attention inside your own mind. And listen. And to show you are listening, why not keep a journal of the thoughts you’re having and date them, so you can see your own progress for yourself.

I have been listening to my inner voice since yesterday, when I suddenly realised I was being told to be careful about my teeth. And then last night, what happened? Yes. one of my crowns came out whilst I was eating something hard! So my lesson today is to go to the dentist!

Have a beautiful day all of you. And if you’d like to download one of our meditations to help you to get into the right space, you can do so here.

The simple things are the most important

I wonder how many of you are worrying, particularly at this time of year and in the current economic climate, how you are going to manage over the coming few weeks?

So many people put such a lot of resources (physical and mental effort, money & time) into getting a Christmas present for someone they care about, so much so, that they often do without the basics themselves to give a gift.

Surely the greatest gift you can give someone you love is your time? Time to talk, time to be, time to heal and time to help. If you love someone and they love you, then surely also, that is what they would wish from you? And they would most certainly not want you to do without the basics, heating, lighting, warmth, food and the company of others, simply to buy a gift.

So at this very special time of year, when so many people worry and stress about ‘what can I get’, try to relax a little, see the bigger picture and take time to be with your loved ones. I’m sure all of you who have lost someone you love, you would willingly go without a gift for 5 or 10 minutes more with them. So think of your life in the same way. Relax, give of your time and your love, for there is no greater gift!

And if you really want to give someone something and you can’t think what to get them – then a gift vouchers for the therapy and reading side of Believe may just be the answer you’re looking for!

Being the best you that you can be!

Today I’m blogging about what we all can do to make a difference in this sometimes challenging world we live in.

One of the things I’m constantly banging on about is being the best you that you can be in every situation you find yourself in. Jass and I both work really hard to be the best us that we can be – and sometimes we have to work harder at it than other times and I’m sure that’s not unique to us! So what do I mean by being the best you that you can be?

In every situation that life shows us, we really have two choices, accept it as it is or try to do something to change it. And even if all we do to change it is change our perception of it – well wouldn’t that be wonderful? But if even when there’s turmoil around you, or somebody being difficult, then you can make sure you keep your own integrity, your own standards and not be sucked into the lower form of energy and that way you will ride out that particular storm with your head held high!  If we are always true to ourselves and honest in our beliefs, then we can stay honest in our lives and if the whole world did that – how much better would we all be?

Blessings to you all on this lovely day.
